hololive Dreams Unit Building and Holomem Boards

Build a synergized unit around a leader’s outfit skill, then spend Holomem board points on the right stat paths, connectors, and skill order.

7 min read

Start your unit build by choosing a leader whose outfit skill you want to activate, then build the rest of the team using cards that match the skill's requirements—generation, card type, or primary stat. Spend your Holomem board points first on stat paths your team members scale with, then use connector nodes for the best board-wide bonuses.

Build Around the Leader First

steps

  1. Select your leader by the outfit skill you want to enable. This is the starting point of your unit build.
  2. Check the outfit skill’s requirements: Look for conditions like needing two members from a specific generation or card type. For example, some skills require two members of Advent.
  3. Fill the unit with teammates who help satisfy the leader’s skill condition. Choosing cards that already satisfy the same requirement is a good sign they belong in your unit.
  4. Check every member’s own skill condition to ensure they synergize with the leader and each other, maximizing skill activation and stat boosts.

Match Card Types and Primary Stats

When building out your unit, look at each card’s generation, card type, and primary stat (performance, technique, or sense). Even if a card is a pure type, pay attention to which stat its skill triggers off—some skills will only benefit members with a specific primary stat. After the leader and main skill checks are covered, pick members whose skills also trigger off the same traits for better synergy.

Use Similar Stats to Strengthen the Unit

When should you stack cards with matching main stats?

Choose multiple cards with the same main stat if you want to efficiently boost them all using the same board paths (such as technique nodes for technique-focused members). If a card’s main stat does not match, it may still fit if its skill conditions are already satisfied. However, stacking more cards of the same type won’t always mean higher scores if the skill effect only helps limited members.

Spend Holomem Board Points by Section

comparison

Red Section Red nodes are for leader type and only activate when the card is the unit leader.

Blue Section Blue nodes raise that card's stats and increase the skill activation rate.

Yellow Section Yellow nodes are support and are active even when the member is not in your unit. They boost member song scores and are for Holowork bonuses.

Green Section Green nodes are support as well and are recommended for cards not actively used. They boost all stats and can also help in mini-games.

With limited board points, focus first on the sections that help your current team. Pick stat paths that match your main unit members before spreading points into utility or mini-game bonuses.

Prioritize the Right Nodes on the Board

steps

  1. Prioritize stat nodes matching your team’s primary stat. If your unit is mostly technique, technique nodes are first; for performance, pick performance nodes next.
  2. Sense nodes should only be activated if they lead to a more important node.
  3. Pick life up and perfect-related nodes if you need help clearing lives, such as increasing survivability or improving scoring on notes.

Place Connector Nodes for the Best Bonus

Connector nodes let you plug in a card for extra section bonuses. The card you use does not have to match the board owner—choose the card with the strongest effect for the section you want to boost. Some connectors affect more branches or offer broader bonuses, so early in the game, use the highest star connector you have available, even if it isn’t the perfect match.

Holomem Board Questions You Will Run Into

FAQ

How do I build a team around a leader's outfit skill in hololive Dreams?

Start by choosing a leader whose outfit skill you want to activate, then fill the unit with cards that help meet its specific condition (such as generation or card type).

What do Advent, pure type, and primary stat mean when building a unit?

Advent and pure type are traits tied to card generation and overall type, while primary stat (performance, technique, or sense) is what the card scales best with; all three help target skills that trigger for best synergy.

Which Holomem board nodes should I prioritize first with limited board points?

Prioritize all nodes and the stat paths that match your unit’s main stat; use sense, life up, or perfect nodes only as needed or when they unlock more valuable board bonuses.

How do connector nodes work, and do they have to match the board owner?

Connector nodes let you plug in a card for extra section bonuses; the connector does not have to match the board owner, so use whichever offers the best available boost.

How do I choose between red, blue, yellow, and green board sections?

Pick red for leader bonuses, blue for cards in your active unit, yellow and green as support for members not in the unit; prioritize the section that supports your team with limited board points.

Can I control when special skills activate during a song?

You can influence skill activation by arranging the unit order from left to right before the song starts; skills trigger following that placement.
