Rarities and Typing

SSR is your base summon target, while UR, TUR, and LR are progression forms unlocked via awakening.

Characters are either super (heroes) or extreme (villains), and are colored/typed as follows: Physical (yellow), Strength (red), Intelligence (purple), Technique (green), and Agility (blue). These typings determine team synergy and advantage but the same unit keeps its starting type and alignment as it changes forms.

Training and Awakening

steps

  1. Training: Level up the unit using training items and locations. Best results come from locations with super success (like Gravity Chamber).
  2. Awaken: Move the unit to the next form with medals. If medals are missing, tapping the required medal takes you directly to its stage.
  3. Dokkan Awaken: For URs, transforms them to TUR or LR if you have the needed medals. The medal page jumps straight to the correct stage.
  4. Extreme Z Awaken: Use the medal page to find the right stage for awakening.
  5. Order: Level, max super attack, then awaken to the next form. Max super attack is required for full Hidden Potential unlocks.

Choose your hidden potential unlock path

  • First dupe (new copy): Always open the bottom right path first, as this provides more stats.
  • Additional dupes: Decide based on which node unlocks the stats or abilities you want next—check the board for available nodes needing a specific dupe.
  • Skill orbs: Equip bronze, silver, and gold orbs once applicable. Key stats shown are additional attack (combo), critical hit, dodge (evasion), attack boost, defense boost, super attack power, healing boost.

Links

  • Levels range from 1 to 10, getting stronger as they rise.
  • Some links, like Big Bad Bosses or GT, are much more powerful and sought after.
  • Level up by playing stages with the unit or using link-level items.
  • High link levels are important for certain villain, GT, or Super Saiyan 4 characters.

Leader Skills

  • Only the unit in your team’s leader slot gives its leader skill buff to the full team.
  • You must match team members to what your leader skill actually buffs.
  • Character details page shows all skills, categories, and link info for easy planning.

Dragon Stones

  • Used for summoning characters on banners; spend carefully and focus on major celebration banners (Anniversary, Saiyan Day, Golden Week, etc.), not bait banners.

Red Coins

  • Earned on Dokkan Festival banners; buy older Dokkan Festival units when they return.

Carnival Coins

  • Used for carnival units from carnival banners; buy carnival LRs.

Yellow/Green Dokkan Festival Coins

  • Accumulate from summons on Dokkan Festival banners as pity; use when you meet thresholds to buy featured TUR/LR units.

Tips:

  • Use the plus sign on the treasure/coin page to view all currencies.
  • Don’t waste stones on banners offering low-value items or weak characters.

FAQ

What do all the buttons on the home screen do in Dokkan Battle?

The home screen displays your progression stats and currencies (rank, power level, Zeni, dragon stones, stamina), offers access to mission, news, menu, events, gifts, growth and team management, and launches game modes through the Start button.

How do I train, awaken, and Dokkan awaken a character?

Go to Growth, select Training (level up using items and locations), then use Awaken or Dokkan Awaken as medals are available. Tapping the medal shows the required stage. Max super attack before awakening for full potential unlocks.

What hidden potential path should I open first on a new dupe?

Always unlock the bottom right path for your first dupe, as it grants more stats. Subsequent dupes go to paths matching the node you want next.

How do link levels work, and how do I level them up fast?

Links range from levels 1–10, growing stronger with each level. Level by playing stages with the unit or by using link-level items if you have the resources.

What do red coins, yellow coins, and carnival coins do?

Red coins buy Dokkan Festival units, yellow coins are Dokkan Festival pity coins, and carnival coins buy carnival banner units. Each coin type can only be spent on units from its corresponding banner.

Why should I lock units before selling them?

Locking protects important units from accidental mass selling during box cleanup. Only units with the lock activated are safe; unwanted units can still be sold for Zeni.
