Neverness to Everness

Neverness to Everness 999 Nights Tower Mode: Mystery Buttons Farming Worth It?

Version 1.3 adds the permanent 999 Nights tower mode, but for Mystery Buttons it is a poor farm compared with the usual Crimson Castle route. Use it only if you want the mode itself, not because it beats your standard button grind.

999 Nights tower mode is not worth farming for Mystery Buttons compared to Crimson Castle. The standard 1–99 floor run yields fewer buttons and is less efficient. Infinite mode drops are not much better, and both modes fall short as button farms. Use 999 Nights only if you specifically want its content or rewards.

What 999 Nights Actually Gives You

prerequisites

  • Permanent mode: 999 Nights is permanent Version 1.3 content, not a limited event.
  • Entrance location: Enter via Mei's apartment, interact with the TTRPG anomaly, then use the Gauntlet of Valor teleport point on the Warren Continent map.
  • Mode split: The tower is split into standard floors and infinite mode.
  • Button Shop: Mystery Buttons are spent in the Button Shop from the permanent events tab.

Floor 1-99: Clear It If You Want the One-Time Rewards

steps

  1. Standard mode process: Run through floors 1–99 in standard mode. Every five floors are mini-boss stages; every 10 are boss fights.
  2. Late floors: Floors 91–98 are continuous mini-bosses. Floor 99 is the final boss stage.
  3. Clear time: Expect about 1–1.5 hours for the full clear, depending on your gear and experience. The early floors are easy if you have cleared Nightmare and have good gear sets.
  4. Button rewards: Clearing floors 1–99 gave around 15,000 Mystery Buttons. Completing the exploration guide quest adds about 5,500, totaling roughly 20,000 from the whole run. This is one-time only.

Infinite Mode Is Not a Better Button Farm

Crimson Castle Still Wins on Value

comparison

Crimson Castle Farming

  • Produces enough Mystery Buttons to buy the daily Heterogeneous Unit and have surplus for the next day.
  • Considerably more efficient as a button farm.

999 Nights Tower Mode

  • Both standard and infinite mode underperform as button farming routes.
  • Only do this mode for its unique content, achievements, or challenge — not for button income.

When to Run 999 Nights Anyway

Choose 999 Nights for Content, Not Button Farming

  • Run 999 Nights for its permanent achievements, unique content, or if you want additional gameplay after finishing your daily routines.
  • Do not treat it as your main Mystery Button farming method.
  • If your goal is buying out the Button Shop, stick to Crimson Castle for faster gains.
  • All recommendations are based on Version 1.3 balance and may change in future updates.

FAQ

How many Mystery Buttons do you get from clearing floors 1-99 in 999 Nights?

How long does it take to clear 999 Nights standard mode?

Expect about one hour to an hour and a half for the full clear, depending on gear and familiarity.

How many Mystery Buttons did infinite mode give on wave 50?

Wave 50 gave only a small button gain, and the overall infinite run ended at about 7,000 Mystery Buttons after 45 minutes. Wave 50 is not a significant jump.

Is 999 Nights worth doing if you only want Mystery Buttons?

No. It underperforms compared to Crimson Castle for button income.

Can you fully AFK the infinite mode in 999 Nights?

No. Fully AFK is not possible due to enemies waiting at spawn and crimson dragons triggering one-shot mechanics if left alive.

What enemies or mechanics can stop semi-AFK farming in infinite mode?

Enemies that stay out of AoE reach block AFK farming, and crimson dragons left untouched can trigger Gerato and wipe your team.
